ITAR and EAR Harmonization Rule - Preparing Comments

    Washington, DC, 1:30 PM GMT

The Department of State and Department of Commerce have proposed revisions to critical definitions within the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These efforts are part of Export Control Reform Initiative to harmonize common terms and definitions between the ITAR and EAR.  Some of the very important terms for which revised definitions are being proposed include "export," "reexport," "retransfer," "technical data," "public domain," and "defense service."  Come hear key drafters of these proposed rules explain the nitty gritty details of these new definitions and how they can literally affect your export compliance legal advice for years to come and whether you may wish to submit comments on the proposed rules by the deadline of August 3, 2015.
