Ethics Essentials and Leadership Tips for Staff and Outside Insurance Defense Counsel

Temple University Beasley School of Law, 1 PM GMT

This program focuses exclusively on ethics and leadership issues for insurance defense counsel.  Working with insured clients and claim departments, whether as staff or outside counsel, presents unique ethical challenges. Leading an insurance defense legal organization also presents unique performance challenges involving coaching, data metrics, and communication.

This CLE will address some of the ethics challenges faced by insurance defense staff and outside counsel and offer leadership tips for successful performance in the law office or legal department.

    · Five panelists will lead three roundtable discussions on: (1) providing coaching to your direct reports, (2) leveraging metrics of performance, and (3) advancing technological change management in the new age.

    · An ethics author and practice expert will lead an interactive presentation on conflicts of interest, including current and prior representations, multiple representations, and insurer and insured issues.

    · An insurance defense ethics scholar and practitioner will speak on the duty of confidentiality and the challenges presented with ever-evolving modes of communication.
