    Program Description

In connection with the Obama Administration's Russian-related sanctions, the U.S. Department of Commerce's Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has imposed heightened and complex export controls on a wide range of items that could be utilized in various Russian industries (e.g., defense and energy sectors). Given that some of these export controls require determining whether a product falls under a specific Schedule B number and whether it will be used in certain kinds of oil and gas exploration activities, BIS and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have closely coordinated with each other to ensure that unauthorized exports do not occur. During this programs, key officials from BIS and CBP will discuss what companies need to know and do to comply with these complex export controls.
