Attorneys are eager to leverage their skills to assist survivors of human trafficking, yet they often face challenges in navigating this complex field. Survivors’ experiences of trauma and potential distrust in the legal system, coupled with their diverse legal needs, can seem daunting. However, ALIGHT’s innovative pro bono program, recognized by the ABA’s Resolution 113 and the MIT Solve Challenge, provides a pathway for attorneys across over 20 legal specializations to unite for a greater impact.
In this CLE session, you will hear firsthand from a survivor who has endured years of litigation in her quest for justice, sharing her inspiring journey of resilience. Additionally, attorneys will discuss specific cases where they integrated their expertise in criminal, family and civil law with trauma-informed practices to advocate effectively for their clients’ rights. Finally, you will learn how you, too, can support survivors on their journey to freedom through discrete pro bono advocacy, counsel and/or representation that aligns with your bandwidth.
Join us to discover how you can play a vital role in the expanding movement to support survivors on their journey to freedom. Together, we can make a meaningful difference.
