This ethics CLE presentation will focus on providing practical advice to the business lawyer for staying on the Nice List and avoiding the Naughty List. More specifically, it will identify some common legal ethics issues that business lawyers sometimes face, identify the ABA Model Rules that are implicated, and provide practical tips to stay in compliance with the rules and avoid risky situations. Topics will include client identification issues; engagement letter usage; communication and confidentiality obligations; conflict of interest reminders; and other legal ethics and risk management topics.
