This presentation will first explain the use of AI, past and present, for legal professionals and their staff. Then the panelists will discuss how the current use of AI in the workplace can improve or harm work product in certain circumstances. Next, the panel will explore the ways law firms and the judiciary can use ChatGPT responsibly. Finally, the panel will discuss ethical considerations regarding knowledge and use of AI in legal work. The presentation will include live examples of ChatGPT use.
At the end of the program attendees will:
- Understand how artificial intelligence generates a response to a prompted question.
- Understand how the products we see today are the same or different from how we have used AI in the past for our work.
- Recognize the demand for AI-assisted legal writing and what the future holds.
- Consider the ethical risks in using AI and what are the ethical risks in not using AI.
