This panel will bring you up to date on EPA's key regulatory efforts in the energy sector, including EPA's proposed rules to reduce methane emissions from oil and gas operations and proposed new greenhouse gas standards for existing coal and natural gas-fired electric generating units. The panel will discuss EPA's proposed rules for the oil and gas sector, including provisions for plugging orphaned wells, inspecting pipelines, and requirements for leak detection and repair. The panel will also explore EPA's proposed power plant rules under Section 111 of the Clean Air Act, including the option to use of hydrogen co-firing and carbon capture and sequestration to reduce carbon emissions, as well as other flexibilities. We will also discuss grid reliability, and permitting issues for facilities adding new fuels and new technology.
