From the 2023 Business Law Section Fall Meeting: The rise of ChatGPT and other large language models has accelerated the race to advance and monetize these AI technologies. In many ways current regulation covers these risks, but there are identified gaps. In this session, representatives from industry, consumer advocacy, and government will discuss the potential benefits of these technologies and the types of privacy and data security risks they pose. The panel will also discuss considerations in developing both internal AI governance and proposed legislation.
