This 90-minute CLE webinar program will provide an overview of FIFRA, covering the federal regulation of substances considered to be pesticides and pesticide devices. During the first part (45 minutes), attendees will learn about the registration (and reregistration) requirements for pesticides under FIFRA, as well as regulatory requirements for pesticide production and importation. Speakers will also discuss other issues related to the Endangered Species Act compliance. The speakers covering these FIFRA fundamentals will include a private sector attorney, Sara Beth Watson (Of Counsel, Wiley Rein LLP), and an EPA official, Edward Messina (Director of the Office of Pesticide Programs). The second part of the webinar (45 minutes) will cover the latest trends and emerging issues in FIFRA enforcement and litigation presented by two private sector lawyers include Michael Boucher (Partner, Crowell & Moring, LLP) and Keith Matthews (Of Counsel, Wiley Rein LLP). These speakers will discuss issues related to unregistered pesticides, PFAS in pesticides, EPA's enforcement of FIFRA, and other emerging issues in litigation.
