This webinar, being jointly sponsored by the Standing Committee on Gun Violence and the Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence, will provide information on the intersection of firearms and domestic violence, a major public health and legal issue that provides multiple opportunities for courts and attorneys to intervene to reduce risk and apply existing policies fairly and effectively. The 5th circuit's recent decision in the Rahimi case has elevated the discussion and raised questions about the role of state and federal law in this area and what those working with clients and in criminal, civil, family, and juvenile courts are required, expected, or able to do in cases involving domestic violence and firearms.
