The program will then update attendees on the work of the Center for Professional Responsibility's Working Group on Model Rule of Professional 5.5 discussing ideas for amendments that could permit lawyers to practice in any U.S. jurisdiction without going through multiple admission systems. Finally, the panel will examine the varied and complex implementation considerations for such a significant regulatory shift including: How would regulatory authorities decide which jurisdiction would investigate complaints? Which states' rules for MCLE, IOLTA, and fee arbitration would apply? And how would client protection funds decide which fund would cover claims?
Join in the discussion with Mark W. Gifford, Bar Counsel, Wyoming State Bar, David M. Majchrzak, Deputy General Counsel, Klinedinst, and Lynda C. Shely, of The Shely Firm, PC, as these and many other practical aspects of possible changes to Model Rule of Professional Conduct 5.5 will be covered.
