Beyond Smart: Lawyering with Emotional Intelligence, Second Edition
Co-mediation is valuable to mediators of all experience levels because it provides them opportunities to learn from one another, expand their practice areas, and broaden their skills. However, it can invite complications if co-mediators can't work well together. Join us to hear from experienced co-mediators about what works, what doesn't, and how best to avoid foreseeable pitfalls.

Two heads are better than one-or are they? Co-mediation has many benefits for mediators and clients. It provides clients with the opportunity to try new mediators without risk and can bring double the value to clients needing help with challenging disputes. Co-mediation provides mediators opportunities to learn from one another and expand their practice areas and impasse-breaking skills. Co-mediation is also a great way to increase diversity in the field. However, if not done with sufficient preparation and communication between the mediators, there is risk that co-mediation can be disruptive to the mediation.
During this webinar, experienced mediators will discuss their experiences co-mediating various types of disputes. They will share tips on how to ensure the process runs smoothly and doesn't become disruptive, what factors mediators should consider before agreeing to co-mediate, and foreseeable challenges for the co-mediators to discuss before the mediation to ensure they are on the same page.
