Lawyers that appear rarely, if ever, in bankruptcy court may need to handle matter in that court. Perhaps it is a claim adjudication. It may be an adversary proceeding regarding the non-discharge ability of a client's claim, or a challenge to the debtor's eligibility for a discharge. Perhaps the debtor has sued your client in the bankruptcy court on a matter that you handled in state court. Or perhaps your client wants to make an offer to purchase an asset in the court. The rules that apply and the parties that have an interest in such proceedings are surprising to those unfamiliar with the process, but you can effectively serve your client if you become familiar with a few things. This program will be presented by a retired bankruptcy judge and several bankruptcy professionals. At the end of the program, attendees will:
