Members of the academic subcommittee will present current research related to private equity and venture capital. Each presentation will be followed by comments from a practitioner in the relevant field and then open to questions from the audience. This year, presentations will cover the following different topics: (1) fraud carve outs in M&A deals and private equity transactions, (2) examine how Section 12(g) is being manipulated away from its original intent to ensure that disclosures that should be made are being avoided, and (3) examines the SEC new Private Funds Proposal.
