New Opportunities for Lenders and Borrowers under Special Purpose Programs [CC]
Regulators continue to work to breathe life into the use of “Special Purpose Credit Programs” or “SPCPs.” These programs allow lenders to address the credit needs of borrowers who have not been able to obtain credit, otherwise, or are only able to obtain it on inferior terms. The widely held view is that SPCPs can help bridge the homeownership gap between majority and minority families and present new opportunities for lenders. This session includes a topflight panel that will break down what is allowed, discuss the how-to of establishing such programs, and the challenges presented in establishing these programs.
