The European patent system is on the cusp of a foundation change with the Unitary Patent system coming into force, which is expected to occur at the end of 2022 or beginning of 2023. With this change, applicants will have the option, but not obligation, to secure European patent rights through a single Unitary Patent Right and also enforce a patent in multiple European countries in a single proceeding through the Unified Patent Court. This webinar panel, composed of European patent specialists, will outline the tactical issues presented by the new Unitary Patent system and guide participants through a toolbox of options for managing patent filings and enforcement in the new system.
