What do the Silent, Boomer, Xer, Millennial, and Z Generations have in common? You can find each in the current legal workforce. During this session, you will learn about the nuances of each generation (using practical hypotheticals) and how working together presents both opportunities and challenges in complying with our ethical obligations under the Model Rules of Professional Conduct, specifically Competence (1.1), Communication (1.4), Confidentiality (1.6), and Supervision (5.1 and 5.3). Attendees will also understand how these generational differences affect our civil discourse and our well-being, and gain a better understanding of how implicit and explicit biases may affect the way in which we interact across generations and how we can consciously change stereotypes and work to better understand each other.
