The Honorable William D. Missouri Civility Lecture is named in honor of the Honorable William D. Missouri, who embodied courtesy in the courtroom. It is presented annually in conjunction with a meeting of the Judicial Division.

In April 2022, we were pleased to present Hon. William S. Duffey, Jr. as our lecturer on the topic of civility. William S. Duffey, Jr. was sworn in as a United States District Judge for the Northern District of Georgia on July 1, 2004. He retired from the bench on July 1, 2018. Judge Duffey previously served as the United States Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia.

In this engaging and insightful lecture, Judge Duffey explores how civility, when made a key component of firm culture, becomes attainable and aspirational.

Speaker: Hon. William S. Duffey, Jr. (ret'd), Northern District of Georgia

Introductions: Christopher G. Browning Jr., Partner, Troutman Sanders LLP & Linda A. Klein, Senior Managing Shareholder at Baker Donelson and former President of the American Bar Association.
