This webinar will provide an overview of Ombuds Section Fellow A. Davis's project to the larger ABA community, share more background on the topic idea, and review key insights about how pathways forward.
During a time where society is in a place of transition due to shifts prompted by the pandemic, conflict is prevalent. Cracks in established systems are significantly impacting people in all arenas and prompting discussions from those outside of the industry about the value of conflict resolution methods to address these needs.
Various practitioners have shared their perspective in informal spaces about the state of society and dispute resolution, but it seemed like there was less conversation happening industry-wide about the topic. With that in mind, this fellowship project started out exploring the ADR industry from its origins in order to track where it is today and the path of how it got here. In this program, we will discuss the past and the present to uncover potential gaps or identify salient lessons that can be used to inform the field as it attempts to respond to upcoming conflict support needs.
