Do you remember from law school the many hours we spent on the famous
International Shoe v Washingtoncase regarding personal jurisdiction? Recently the U.S. Supreme Court in
Ford v. Montanasustained International Shoe's validity regarding personal jurisdiction issues. This program is a primer on how to handle nonresident defendants' personal jurisdiction of specific (i.e. case-linked) personal jurisdiction challenges that can be general (i.e. all-purpose) personal jurisdiction or specific (i.e. case-linked) challenges.
