A Freelance Lawyer's Guide to Financial Success
There is a belief that conflicts don't happen in practice much, or that certain practice areas don't see them because of who their opponent usually is. They are wrong. It's one of the most common ethics dilemmas with lawyers that are paying attention, because they can happen not just with joint clients or current and past clients, but with staff, the lawyer, or another third party with a relationship with the firm or client. Lawyers need to know how to do a conflicts check for their practice area and how to screen people from cases effectively. We will lay it out.
