Closed Captioned.
Franchisors and franchisees continue to be targets of a multitude of third-party claims not directly related to the franchise model. Lawsuits involving patent infringement, ADA website compliance, biometrics statutes, and TCPA issues over emails, texts, calls, and faxes are among the types of claims that franchisors and franchisees alike often face. This program will provide an overview of the types of claims that, though not franchise specific, franchisors and their franchisees frequently have to address, ways to protect against them, strategies to address these suits when they appear at the doorstep, as well as the allocation between franchisor and franchisee of defense and settlement costs.
