      We will be discussing ethical issues in charitable fundraising and the political activities of non-profit organizations. In that regard, we intend to cover:

      • Service on non-profit Boards: fiduciary duties, acting as legal representative, raising funds
      • Representing and advising non-profit organizations
      • Differences between charitable non-profits and non-profits that may conduct political activities: What are different tax-exempt entities (501(c)(3) vs. 501(c)(4)) allowed to raise money for/spend money on?
      • What are the registration and reporting implications for non-profit organizations that raise or spend money for political purposes?
      • Ethics of judges/elected officials sitting on nonprofit boards and/or fundraising for different types of entities
