This panel will examine traditional streaming services such as Netflix, Spotify, Pandora and their role as intermediary between creators and their audiences. We will look at various business and monetization models, as well as the distribution channels facilitated by these services. This panel will also examine IP ownership as it relates to artists and creators, both traditional and non-traditional (YouTube and social media influencers). We will discuss the options available to creators to profit directly from the exploitation of their works on ad-driven platforms as well as the direct payment platforms payment platforms. Finally, this panel will examine current legal issues affecting the industry such as money laundering, managing content, and rights of publicity.
