CLE made easy
ABA members have unlimited access to more than 600 free CLE webinars and on-demand programs in the Member Benefit Library. New programs added weekly.
Closed Captioned.
For more than 25 years, the Litigation Section has partnered with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) to provide an in-person training course for attorneys who devote their practice to helping those in need. Unfortunately, we cannot hold an in-person training this year due to the pandemic. In lieu of that, we are offering a 2-hour remote training webinar that will address remote advocacy issues.
The program will feature the Hon. Mark A. Drummond (ret.) and NITA communications consultant Carol Sowers. Since March of last year, they have conducted more than a dozen webinars for firms and legal service agencies in addition to conducting more than 100 individual coaching sessions for attorneys. They will deliver their best tips for advocating effectively through the computer screen.
Some of the topics covered are the basic trial skills of developing a theme, direct and cross-examination, impeachment, introduction and use of exhibits, opening statement, and closing argument.
Eligibility
This training is available ONLY to full-time Legal Aid Attorneys. The Legal Services Advocacy Training Program is designed to offer intensive trial advocacy training, at no cost, to attorneys at clinics and legal services programs who do not typically have access to traditional continuing legal education trial skills programs.
