Family-centered care originates in the nursing and healthcare fields to describe an approach to care that embraces whole family inclusion in caregiving, communication, and problem-solving. This concept is applicable to a variety of disciplines, and in fact attorneys/mediators may already be familiar with its application in family law via child-focused mediation and collaborative practice. This workshop will cover approaches, strategies, and ethical considerations to effectively include this philosophy into legal and mediation practice to resolve family conflicts.
