Climate change continues to cast a spotlight on impacts to tribal natural resources - especially forests and agricultural lands - while the COVID-19 pandemic impacts highlight the need to diversify tribal economies and the opportunities to leverage tribal natural and energy resources for economic recovery. Panelists will discuss how tribes are collaborating with each other, federal and state agencies, and regional/local stakeholders to assess climate impacts, develop regional solutions to problems like increased wildfire risks, and identify economic development opportunities to leverage tribal natural resources for climate adaptation and economic recovery.

Cynthia Harris, Staff Attorney; Director of Tribal Programs; Deputy Director of the Center for State, Tribal, and Local Environmental Programs, Environmental Law Institute, Washington, DC
