There are 56 Attorneys General who serve as the chief legal officer in their respective states and territories. These attorney generals counsel their government agencies and legislatures, and serve as a representative of the public interest. This CLE will discuss how the addition of people of color is changing the conversation of justice in the United States and its territories. Specifically, this panel will discuss:
- How they are addressing racial disparities in the criminal justice system,
- The policies they have enacted or want to enact to counteract systemic racism, and
- The challenges faced, and efforts made to restore the publics confidence in our legal system.
