While there continues to be a wide disparity in oversight and enforcement of the Rules of Professional Conduct from state to state as it relates to law marketing and advertising, attorneys remain confused as to how they should comply and even what the issues are. What safeguards does your law firm take to ensure compliance with the RPC and avoid a letter from the disciplinary board?
The entirety of the content of this program are ethics and professionalism issues--with each attorney speaker representing a different perspective--state bar regulator, ethics attorney and litigator. We will examine ABA and state bar ethics opinions, related RPC and recent court decisions.
The program will also address issues as they correlate with ABA Model Rules 1.6, 1.9, 5.5 and 7.1-7.3. There will be multiple ethics opinions, including ABA Formal Opinion 496, and court opinions tied to law firm trade name restrictions.
