Gabriels Angels Service Project Announcement:
Inspiring Confidence, Compassion, and Best Behaviors in At-Risk Children Through Pet Therapy
Gabriels Angels mission is to inspire confidence, compassion, and best behavior in at-risk children through pet therapy. 180 registered Pet Therapy Teams, comprised of owners and their pets, visit 123 statewide facilities serving 12,500 abused, neglected, and at-risk children in the Phoenix, Tucson, and Prescott areas each year. The therapy visits provide children with unconditional love and teach core social behaviors. The Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee (ICLC) is proud to announce Gabriels Angels as its service project for 2021. For more information, or to support Gabriels Angels efforts, please visit www.gabrielsangels.org.
Panel 1 (Day 1): CoVid-19 (60 minutes)
CoVid-19 Part 1: First Party Coverage Issues
Businesses across the country, and across the globe, have suffered devastating revenue losses as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. A staggering number of lawsuits have been filed seeking rulings regarding the potential availability and scope of coverage for such losses under first-party policies Business Interruption, Extra Expense, Civil or Military Authority, and other coverage grants. The panelists will discuss the myriad pandemic-related coverage issues, including what constitutes direct physical loss or damage; the potential applicability of virus exclusions, loss of use exclusions, and loss of market exclusions, as well as causation and valuation issues. They also will address new exclusions in the market regarding losses arising from communicable diseases.
