12-1:00 pm: The Changing Face of Maritime Shipping in the 21st Century: It's a Women's World
In the last decade, women have obtained leadership positions at major shipping companies and marine insurers. The panel will explore how this change in perspective has impacted the handling of claims, use of mediation, retention of experts, and expectations. In particular, encouraging diversity with those leading the case work will be analyzed and suggestions for improvement presented. This will be addressed in the context of real case studies from our panelists experiences.

1-2:00 pm: The Business of Shipping in the Next Decade from In-House Counsel View: Vaccine or Bust
Shipping is always maddeningly cyclical. It's either robust growth with vessel purchasing or calling the insolvency specialist to seek a workout. The Covid pandemic has exacerbated lingering pressures in how companies conduct business in a cyclical manner. Changes to claim management, travel in a global business, and engagement with trusted counsel will be explored.

2-2:10 pm –Marine Insurance At the Tipping Point
Over the past year, the marine insurance market has sustained noted losses due to numerous storms and large casualties, resulting in limited capacity and augmented rates. With the COVID 19 pandemic still at the forefront as well as rising geopolitical sanctions and threats, the recent boom in political risk insurance to support offshore projects is expected to continue. This facilitated discussion with a noted leader of the marine insurance domestic space will provider her keen perspectives.
