The panel will focus on trends in government enforcement in health care fraud and abuse related to, among other things, treatment centers, genetic testing, telehealth, and durable medical equipment. The panel will discuss fraud schemes relating to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the impact of the pandemic on enforcement generally. The panel will also emphasize some of the recent court decisions that impact practitioners representing organizations in civil and criminal health care fraud and abuse investigations. The panelists will first discuss criminal enforcement from the defense perspective and civil enforcement, with an emphasis on the False Claims Act, from the perspective of the government.
