This program will address how the state and federal courts are handling trials during the COVID-19 pandemic. Panelists will discuss what is involved in a virtual trial (jury or non-jury), and how an in-person jury trial can be held in a safe way. These critically important issues along with others will be examined and your questions answered by a panel of judges who have held virtual or in-person trials and evidentiary proceedings in ways that complied with public health concerns, along with a seasoned trial lawyer who handled the first summary jury trial in Texas state court, and the head of the jury project at the National Center for State Courts. This program is free to the public.
