The ABA and many jurisdictions are adding clauses about discriminatory behavior to their ethics rules. Failure to understand both explicit and implicit biases which can lead to inappropriate conduct can be costly - both ethically and legally.

This webinar will help you understand the steps you need to take to protect both your firm and your clients from engaging in behavior that could cause legal problems and prevent you from building an effective and diverse workforce.

Join our esteemed panel as they explain how to:
    • Better understand your own biases
    • Create a comfortable workplace for all employees
    • Avoid running afoul of the new rules on discrimination which are spreading across the country

Prior to the program, all pre-registered attendees will receive a list of phrases to review. Take time, in private, to consider these phrases - what they mean, whether you use them, and how they might impact others. Together we will explore both sides of bias to help us understand that everyone, no matter who they are, has views related to diversity that affect the people they encounter. This type of honest exploration helps both employers and employees understand each other so that they can work comfortably together. Using scenarios, we will explore both the legal and ethical aspects inherent to forming and protecting a diverse workplace.
The ABA will request elimination of bias credit in CA and MN, access to justice credit in OR, and ethics/professionalism credit in most other states.
