Business Law Diversity Clerkship Program
Application deadline: December 23, 2011
Offers eight-week summer clerkship placements for qualified diverse candidates who are first or second year law students. For more information, contact Leslie Banas (312/988-5630).

Litigation Summer 2012 Judicial Internship Opportunity Program
Application deadline: January 6, 2012
This program places minority or economically disadvantaged students with state and federal judges for summer internships.

Competitions and Writing Contests

Construction Industry 2011 Writing Competition
Entry deadline: December 31, 2011
Award: $2,000 plus travel expenses and registration to attend the 2012 Forum on the Construction Industry Annual Meeting in Las Vegas. Students may submit articles on any topic related to construction law. For more information, contact Amanda Raible or Marilyn Klinger.

Entertainment and Sports Industries and The Grammy Foundation - 14th Annual Entertainment Law Initiative Writing Competition
Entry deadline: January 2, 2012
Award: $5,000 cash, one Grammy Awards show ticket, round trip airfare to the GRAMMY Awards in Los Angeles, hotel accommodations, and a ticket to the MusiCares Person of the Year Tribute Dinner.  Visit Entertainment Law Initiative on or email for details.

Business Law - Mendes Hershman Writing Contest
Entry deadline: January 20, 2012
Award: $2,500 cash, and travel expenses to attend the Section's Spring Meeting.

International Law - Rona R. Mears Student Writing Competition & Scholarship Awards
Entry deadline: January 20, 2012
Award: $1,000 cash, and a $1,000 travel stipend to the Section’s Spring Meeting in New York City.

Antitrust Law Writing Competition
Entry deadline: February 1, 2012
Award: $2,000 cash, and an invitation to the Section’s Spring Meeting (March 28-30, 2012) in Washington, D.C. Airfare (if living outside DC area), hotel accommodations, and registration will be paid by the Section.

Dispute Resolution - Mediation Video Contest on YouTube®
Entry deadline: February 1, 2012
Award: $1,000 cash, and featured at the Section's Spring Conference in April, and on the Section's webpage.

Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability and Long & Levit LLP Essay Contest
Entry deadline: February 17, 2012
Award: $5,000 cash, and travel expenses to attend the Section's Spring 2012 National Legal Malpractice Conference (April 18-20, 2012) in New York City.

Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section Law Student Writing Competition
Entry deadline: March 5, 2012
Award: $1,500 cash, airfare, and hotel accommodations to the Section's portion of the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago, Illinois, and possible publication in the Tort Trial & Insurance Law Journal.

Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice - Gellhorn-Sargentich Essay Competition
Entry deadline: April 1, 2012
Award: $5,000, and airfare to the Section's 2012 Administrative Law Fall Conference in Washington, DC.

Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Admiralty and Maritime Writing Competition
Entry deadline: April 6, 2012
Awards: $500 cash, and a maximum of $500 reimbursement towards attendance at the Section's Spring Meeting in Charleston, SC or the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago, IL.
