CHAIR'S WELCOME by CHRISTINE M. GRANT
The newly formed Individualized Learning Working Group (WG) was charged in August, 2009 with analyzing opportunities for repurposing current Section content to create new products and expand the appeal of current products to customers who are seeking individualized content and cutting edge formats for receiving it. The group analyzed potential new uses for each current section content source; discussed repurposing with ABA Staff and other sections; outlined pilot projects that could be initiated in 2010 and reviewed proposals for implementing ongoing content repurposing. As a result of this group, new products are available to SciTech members.
"Gene regulating human brain development identified" Writing in the Journal Cell Stem Cell (July 1, 2010), a team of scientists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison has identified a single gene--Pax6--that seems to be a master regulator of human brain development, guiding undifferentiated stem cells down tightly defined pathways to becoming all of the many types of cells that make up the brain, according to the University of Wisconsin-Madison (July 1, 2010).
