CHAIR'S WELCOME by CHRISTINE M. GRANT
I wish all Section of Science & Technology Law members a Happy New Year. We look forward to providing even more valuable content, outstanding programs and networking opportunities in 2010.
The Section delivers its members free substantive content through its publications: SciTech e-Merging News, The SciTech Lawyer and Jurimetrics in addition to committee newsletters, such as Biotech Briefing and EDDE Case Digest. You will receive SciTech e-Merging News every quarter electronically. The SciTech Lawyer is the Section's practice specific hard copy magazine featuring cutting edge news. Its online archives are a useful resource. The Section takes great pride in its half-century sponsorship of the esteemed law review journal Jurimetrics. Jurimetrics debuted as Modern Uses of Logic in the Law in September 1959, drawing its current name from the article "Jurimetrics: The Next Step Forward?" by Lee Loevinger, a distinguished jurist and former SciTech Chair. The editorial team has worked tirelessly with the Section to develop an online Jurimetrics format that provides convenient, on-demand access to the full range of journal content. An enhanced search capability will soon increase our utilization by judges, professors, students, practicing attorneys, and scientists. SciTech's more than 13,000 members continue to receive Jurimetrics online as a special benefit, and bound versions are available for purchase at the end of each year.
