Chair's Message

Come together, right now by ruth hill bro

For many of us, it’s been a long, cold lonely winter as we’ve tried to find our way through a seemingly endless economic blizzard.  But the summer is finally coming and with it the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago, July 30-August 2, 2009.  Whether you’re looking for networking opportunities, fabulous programs, CLE credit, other ways to enhance your practice and further your career, or simply fun in the sun, you’ll find it at the ABA Annual Meeting.

There has never been a better time to attend, as the members of the Section of Science & Technology Law will be coming together to celebrate the Section’s 35th anniversary.  As part of this celebration, we are hosting many programs and events, including:

  • A free CLE program on July 31 on “ On The Road to Financial Recovery with Science and Technology Law: IT and Life Science Engines of Change.”
  • A free CLE program on August 1 on “Seven Secrets Every Lawyer Must Know to Thrive, Even in a Recession.”
  • The Section Reception on July 31, at the historic University Club of Chicago, where we expect many of our past Section Chairs to be among the attendees.  Join the party – it’s free for Section members.

We hope you’ll join us (and the 10,000 other attorneys attending the ABA Annual Meeting).  Early registration rates are available until May 29th.

We will have much to celebrate, including the Section’s longstanding commitment to coming together.  Over the past 35 years, the Section has forged notable partnerships at key junctures.  For example, the Section has co-sponsored:

As we celebrate our 35th anniversary, we look forward to future opportunities to explore the ever-changing issues at the convergence of law, science, and technology.

All roads lead to Chicago this summer.  Don’t miss this opportunity to come together at the ABA Annual Meeting.  Register now.
