LPM Welcomes Its Newest Staff Members
Barbara Perez joined the LPM staff in July as the Section and Committees Coordinator. Barbara has extensive association adminstrative experience, and worked at the ABA previously from 1985 to 2000. Denise Constantine began work at the ABA in August as the LPM Books Production Manager. Denise has significant book editorial and production experience, most recently with Rand Corporation in California, where she served as a Production Editor for five years. It's not too late to register for the LPM Section Fall Meeting in sunny Rio Grande, Puerto Rico to be held from October 18-20, 2007 at the Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa - A Wyndham Grand Resort.
New LPM Section Chair Vedia Jones-Richardson heads up this year's fall meeting with a focus on diversity issues. This year's meeting his being held in conjunction with the ABA Women Rainmakers Mid-Career Workshop. The schedule does have some new changes that are sure to make it an interesting and energetic meeting.
LPM Section Council meeting will be held during lunch on Friday, October 19 and there will be three diversity initiative educational sessions that will feature speakers Karen Kahn and John Mitchell who were very well-received at the LPM Midyear Meeting in Miami. The sessions interactive and informative entitled, "A Culture of Inclusion," will discuss awareness of and engaging differences. We will also take a look at inclusive leadership.
There will also be three receptions throughout the meeting – one on Thursday at 5:30 p.m., one on Friday at 6:00 p.m., and a dessert reception on Saturday evening from 9:00 p.m.-11:00 p.m., also welcoming the ABA Women Rainmakers Workshop participants.
The practice core groups – focusing on marketing, management, technology and finance – will meet on Saturday afternoon during lunch in San Juan at El Arsenal de la Puntilla. Bus transportation will be provided to San Juan on Saturday morning. Attendees will be sure to find this unique educational and networking opportunity valuable, informative, and fun!
