At the LPM reception at the Annual Meeting in San Francisco in August, the Honorary Council (former Section Chairs) bestowed the Section's most prestigious award upon Richard C. "Dick" Reed. The Sam Smith Award is LPM's highest honor, reserved for those who have made an extraordinary impact on the Section and its members, and for those who have made significant contributions to the field of Law Practice Management in general. Annual Meeting Marks End of a Successful Year for LPM
The Law Practice Management Section (LPM) had a significant presence at the ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco - exhibiting at the ABA Expo, presenting popular CLE sessions, and sponsoring a successful fundraiser for The Breast Cancer Fund. Highlights of the San Francisco meeting included the LPM Gathering Reception, where the Honorary Council conferred the prestigious Sam Smith Award on Richard C. "Dick" Reed, and the Women Rainmakers Reception, which raised nearly $13,000 for The Breast Cancer Fund, the only non-profit organization in the United States dedicated to rooting out the environmental causes of breast cancer.
