Domestic Violence Awareness Month evolved from the first Day of Unity observed in October, 1981 by the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The intent was to connect battered women’s advocates across the nation who were working to end violence against women and their children. The Day of Unity soon became a special week when a range of activities were conducted at the local, state, and national levels.
The Mission of the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) is to organize our collective power by advancing transformative work, thinking and leadership in communities and individuals who seek to end violence in our lives.

With the upcoming election in a few weeks, the attached electronic handout will provide essential information and guidance for conscientious election officials and their attorneys so they will know when and how to move to e-voting forensics. It was written for election officials' consumption, as well as for lawyers who have to advise the officials. It describes what to do to prepare for a forensic investigation; it includes a discussion of the contractual and legal issues that can arise; and it identifies the triggers for calling for a forensics review.
