Speakers

Michael C. Ross

Michael C. Ross is the former Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary for Safeway, Inc.  Prior to joining Safeway, he was a partner at the law firm of Latham & Watkins, where he specialized in corporate mergers and acquisitions. He currently has an adjunct relationship with Altman Weil, Inc. providing management consulting services exclusively to legal organizations. Mike has taught seminars in ethics and business at the law schools of the University of Virginia, the University of California at Berkeley, the Peking University School of Transnational Law, the Dubrovnik International University, and the IE Law School of Madrid. He has authored a law school textbook on Ethics & Integrity in Law and Business, has a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, and a B.A. with honors from the University of Virginia.

Susan G. Manch

Susan G. Manch has over thirty years of experience consulting and coaching law firms and lawyers on legal talent strategy and lawyer development, including a focus on competency-based performance management matters such as supervisory skills. Sue was a founding Principal of Shannon & Manch, is now a Partner at SJL Shannon in Washington DC, and will be relocating to Houston in June to become the Chief of People and Development at Norton Rose Fulbright. She previously directed lawyer professional development at Bingham and held roles at Georgetown University and The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. She is a prolific author, a certified coach, has an M.Ed. in Clinical Counseling from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from Ohio University.
