The Career Choice Series is designed to help you choose your career path. Whether you’re a law student, young lawyer, or transitioning attorney, find out what it’s like to work in various practice areas and the best way to position yourself to get there.

Health law is a very specialized practice which is a microcosm of almost any other area of law. It encompasses the delivery of healthcare, financing, legislation, and regulation for institutions, physicians, pharmaceuticals, insurance providers, device manufacturers, hospitals, etc. Besides regulation, you could be assisting healthcare providers in various litigation including fraud and abuse claims, false claims act, whistleblowing (qui tam), antitrust, breach of contract, intellectual property, and real estate.

You could also be doing transactional work and contracting in order to obtain what health care providers need from employment and software agreements to clinical trial and pharmaceutical agreements.

Our speakers have experience both in-house at institutions and in private firms. They will provide invaluable insight into how they broke into it, the pros and cons, and what a typical day in their practice entails.
