Micah Buchdahl, Conference Chair

Micah Buchdahl is an attorney focused on assisting law firms with business development initiatives. He is a Past-Chair of the American Bar Association's Law Practice Management Section, and creator of the ABA Law Firm Marketing Strategies Conference. Micah is a faculty member of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, where he has taught law marketing ethics courses annually for more than a decade. Based in Moorestown, New Jersey, he is president of HTMLawyers, Inc., a law marketing company. Micah draws vision and ideas from a well of career experience. He worked in the Philadelphia Municipal Court as a mediator and arbitrator. He was formerly associate corporate counsel with the Philadelphia Flyers and Spectacor, as well as director of NBA Photos, a marketing division of the National Basketball Association. With HTMLawyers, he has worked with law firms of all shapes and sizes on initiatives ranging from business development planning to audits of existing marketing efforts, client surveys, law firm retreats and CLE programming. Prior to law school, he worked in marketing and public relations functions within the National Hockey League and Major Indoor Soccer League. He also served as a journalist for The Baltimore Sun. Nicholas Gaffney, Conference Vice Chair

Nicholas Gaffney, a lawyer and former journalist, is a partner with Infinite Public Relations. He designs, executes, and manages communications programs for professional services providers of all type and scope, including some of the most prominent law firms in the country. Nick's public relations career spans two decades, during which he has launched and managed a variety of media-related businesses. Before joining Infinite Public Relations in 2004, Nick headed the Professional Services Practice at Magnet Communications. Described by The Wall Street Journal as a "marketing guru," Nick is frequently sought out for his expertise by the media as well as clients. In addition to being featured in the New York Times and on National Public Radio's Marketplace, Nick pens a monthly column in "Marketing the Law Firm." He recently served as spokesperson for the San Francisco Civil Grand Jury and appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, Examiner, ABC-7 News, and other San Francisco Bay Area media outlets explaining the Jury's work. Prior to his public relations career, Nick worked in various capacities for American Lawyer Media. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Providence College and J.D. from Case Western Reserve School of Law.

Ms. Diaz received her B.S, magna cum laude, in English from the University of California Los Angeles in 1995, her M.B.A. from the University of Southern California in 2004 and her J.D. degree from the University of California Berkeley in 2007.

Andrea Malone is Practice Group Specialist at White and Williams LLP, a mid-sized firm headquartered in Philadelphia. She works with lawyers to develop and execute strategic marketing and business development plans for practice groups within the firm's Business and Commercial Litigation Departments. Andrea has more than 12 years experience in strategic planning, marketing, business development, communications, and management. Steven M. Silverberg is a founding member of the law firm Silverberg Zalantiss LLP, where he concentrates his practice in land use, zoning, and municipal law. Rachel Silverman is an attorney and the Senior Manager of Business Development and Marketing in the New York office of Bracewell & Giuliani, LLP. Her professional career has included the launch, growth, and ultimate sale to ESPN of a sports history channel; the development, rollout, and merger of a B2B media software company; the birth of an executive program that helps women recognize their potential as businesswomen; and now, working alongside former Mayor Rudy Giuliani, helping the establishment of Bracewell & Giuliani's presence in New York's immensely competitive legal marketplace. Rachel writes and speaks often on issues related to marketing and business development, with emphasis on opportunities for women in the workplace. She earned her J.D. in 1994 from Fordham University School of Law, and her B.A. in 1991 from Lehigh University.
