A team of law students from the Universidad de Guanajuato won Mexico’s champion-of-champions mock-trial competition against another team from Universidad de Guanajuato. The team, consisting of three students and one coach, was crowned following its impressive performance during a July 13 faceoff at the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. The competition was a culmination of two nationwide mock-trial competitions that the ABA Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) and California Western School of Law, respectively, conducted in Mexico. The team from the Universidad de Guanajuatowon the ABA ROLI-organized competition, while another team from the Universidad de Guanajuato won the competition conducted by California Western School of Law. To prepare them for the mock-trial competitions, ABA ROLI and California Western School of Law had trained the law students who participated in their national mock-trial competitions.
