Armenia

The American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) has worked to advance the rule of law in Armenia since 1996. Some of its chief achievements include helping to establish critical local legal institutions, including Armenia’s first unified bar association, first legal aid clinics, and the region’s first Public Defender’s Office. ABA ROLI has also supported a number of advances in legal education reform, judicial reform, and criminal law reform, with all efforts focused on building the capacity of local institutions .
