Regional Anti-Corruption Adviser (RACA) - Rule of Law Program

Serving as a regional resource

Since September 2002, ABA ROLI has implemented its Regional Anti-Corruption Advisor (RACA) Program with funding from the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL). Based in Thailand, RACA provides technical assistance to governments and non-governmental organization (NGOs) across the Asia-Pacific region to help them effectively implement the UNCAC, encourage coordination among existing anti-corruption programming, highlight the ways corruption contributes to illicit trade and promote initiatives under the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Anti-Corruption and Transparency Working Group (APEC ACT).

Combating corruption and national crime

As part of RACA, ABA ROLI is working with the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR) State Inspection and Anti-Corruption Authority (SIAA) and the Lao PDR Customs Department (LCD) to enhance their anti-corruption capacity and systems. ABA ROLI is currently assisting the SIAA to enhance their implementation of UNCAC through multi-stakeholder workshop and working with the LCD to develop a code of conduct to reduce corruption and improve integrity among Customs Officers.
