Rebuilding the Capacity of the Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA)

03.06.2007

The Liberian National Bar Association (LNBA) comprised of lawyers, judges and law students, is an essential institution to guiding the direction for the rebuilding and maintenance of the country’s legal framework.  However the civil war that has plagued Liberia has left the office of the secretariat of the LNBA, as well as the law library that it has supported since 1988, in a state that handicaps its ability to operate effectively.

Further to ABA’s mission to promoting the rule of law through their support for legal institutions and legal professionals, the Liberia program, with support from USAID, has procured office equipment and resources to rebuild the capacity of the Liberian National Bar Association and to enable it to efficiently function and meet the growing needs of its population.
