Graduation of ABA Legal Aid Scholars

06.11.2007

Six of the 14 legal aid scholars benefiting from ABA scholarships recently graduated from the Louis Arthur Grimes Law School in Monrovia. During their studies, these students provided assistance to public law oriented organizations in Liberia. In accordance with their contract with the ABA, the graduates will work in a public service capacity for at least a year after graduation. The ABA has thus been meeting with NGOs in order to effectively place the graduates. The American Refugee Committee, the Christian Children's Fund and the Carter Center all interviewed graduates for positions, and the International Rescue Committee, the Norwegian Refugee Committee, and the Justice and Peace Commission expressed interest in employing graduates in the future.
