2017 Rule of Law Luncheon: Post-Conflict Transition and the Rule of Law—Lessons from Colombia
Please join the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) in a lunchtime discussion of the particular challenges to the rule of law in states transitioning from conflict.
This year’s ABA ROLI Rule of Law Luncheon will highlight the work of Patricia Guerrero, recipient of this year’s ABA Human Rights Award for her extraordinary work to advance the rights of women in Colombia, and feature a keynote conversation between Ambassador Carlos Urrutia, former Ambassador of Colombia to the U.S. and Ambassador Stephen Rapp, former U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for International Criminal Justice. ABA ROLI Chair Judge Margaret McKeown will moderate the ambassadors’ discussion about the Colombia peace process, its implications for the rule of law there and broader lessons learned about the challenges to rule of law in post-conflict settings.
